From the aggressive front bumper and aerodynamic rear to the 19” forged alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli P-Zero high-performance tyres, the i30 N bristles with powerful details that prove it was born to play.
Sports exhaust.
If you needed any more evidence of the i30 N’s racing roots, then you need look no further than the sports exhaust. The twin-outlet active exhaust has three settings, allowing the driver to select the ideal level of exhaust sound for the conditions – keep it subdued around town or allow the engine’s full vocal range to be enjoyed when the open road beckons. In Sports+, the throttle lifts and downshifts to bring a thrilling volley of rasping crackles and pops that have to be heard to be appreciated.

The increased front brake discs measuring 360mm are clamped by distinctive red N brake caliper, providing strong and fade-resistance stopping power.

Each of these technologies has one thing in common: they’ve been developed to alert you to (and help you avoid) any dangers around you, so you can just get on with the joy that is driving the i30 N.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)
When the car ahead is too close for comfort, the Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist utilises front radar sensors and the windshield mounted camera to detect the proximity. It can also pick up pedestrians and cyclists that are travelling in front and will automatically apply the vehicle’s brakes in the case of a potential collision.
Lane Following Assist (LFA)
Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses the front windshield mounted camera to detect lane markers and preceding traffic on the road, and provides steering assistance to ensure the vehicle stays in the centre of the lane.
Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)
A steering assist function that detects lane markings to monitor the vehicle’s position in the lane. Should the vehicle stray from the intended lane without activating the indicators, an audible and visual warning will be sounded and where required, will provide steering intervention to keep the vehicle in the centre of the lane.
High Beam Assist (HBA).
When driving at night, High Beam Assist can automatically enable the high beams when safe to do so. HBA will detect nearby vehicles through the windscreen mounted camera, and automatically disable high beams when at risk of dazzling a nearby driver.
Blind-Spot Safety features.
On Manual variants, at speeds of 20km/h or above, Blind-Spot Collision warning (BCW) uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the i30 N. If a vehicle is present in the i30 N’s blind spot, BCW displays a visual alert in the exterior mirrors. If the driver proceeds to activate the corresponding indicator lights, a flashing visual warning is provided and an audible alert is sounded. Additionally, the Lane Change Assist (LCA) feature scans for vehicles approaching rapidly from the rear, and uses the same BCW warning measures to alert the driver of vehicles which may be entering the i30 N’s blind spot at a higher rate of speed.
On DCT variants, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) is available which uses radar sensors on either side of the rear bumper to detect vehicles next to and diagonally behind the i30 N. If a vehicle is detected in the blind spot while the turn signal is flashing, BCA automatically applies left or right-side front braking before your attempted lane change thus helping you avert an unsafe lane change and a potential collision.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA).
Using the BCA system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the i30 N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces at speeds of up to 8km/h. Should RCCA detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.
In the case that the driver does not adhere to the warning, RCCA may use braking force and help avoid a collision with the approaching vehicle.
Only available in DCT variants.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW).
Using the BCW system’s radar sensors, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW) monitors for traffic approaching on either side of the i30 N when reversing out of perpendicular parking spaces. Should RCCW detect a vehicle approaching, an audible warning will sound, with a visual warning displayed on the dash cluster.
Only available in manual variants.

Performance Tech
High performance brake package.
Big is most certainly better, we’ve increased the front brake discs to measure 360mm for ultimate fade-resistance stopping power. Clamped by the distinctive red N brake callipers, safety meets exhilaration.
Ride & handling.
To deliver optimum ride and handling regardless of road surface, the i30 N is fitted with Electronically Controlled Suspension (ECS). A lower, firmer suspension tune combined with electronically controlled dampers that continuously adjust damping force (based on road conditions, vehicle speed and driver inputs) means the i30 N delivers exceptional turn-in characteristics and body control, without sacrificing the ride compliance needed for daily driving comfort.
Corner-carving brilliance.
The electronically controlled mechanical limited slip differential (E-LSD) uses a hydraulically actuated clutch pack to distribute torque intelligently between the two front wheels depending on throttle inputs, steering angle, and cornering force. This technology reduces wheelspin and understeer while increasing traction and cornering speed, allowing the driver to extract maximum performance from the i30 N.

Engine performance.
For more thrills on the road, the i30 N’s powerful 2.0-litre turbocharged engine has been reworked with an all-new turbocharger and intercooler setup – now delivering 206kW and 392 Nm. The 206kW engine offers flat power, providing even more torque and power for exhilarating performance.
Torque.
The i30 N keeps maximum torque between 2,100 and 4,700 RPM, and achieves maximum power at 6,000 RPM. The increased low end torque improves every day driving, while the increased power at the top end provides an exhilarating spirited drive. Flat power tuning delivers improved thrust at all engine speeds which improves driving in different conditions.

If your Smart key is close by you can unlock the doors with a touch of the door handle and start the engine with one push of the start/stop button.
